During those early years of your child’s life, you are constantly searching for new ways to get out of the house. The only issue is that it can be hard to find a place that’s exciting for every member of the family, especially if you’re raising siblings. While one child is having the time of their life, the other is inevitably wishing they were literally anywhere else. This is why you need a place like the Columbus Riverwalk in GA. This 15-mile park is full of activities created for the entire family!

About the Columbus Riverwalk in GA

118 W 11th Street, Columbus, Georgia 31901

The Columbus Riverwalk is an outdoor GA park that was created alongside the Chattahoochee River. Throughout history, the area has served as a central point in the community, whether the Native Americans were using it as a trading center in the 1700s or the steamboats were stopping by with exports in the 19th century. In 1992, Columbus decided to take the area and transform it into a common space for the entire community. Over the next several years, the area expanded, creating bike trails, walking trails, and play structures while also building museums and entertainment centers. No matter what you’re in the mood for today, I can guarantee the Columbus Riverwalk has the perfect option.

Something For Everyone

The Columbus Riverwalk features something for all ages in GA. While there are plenty of spaces for adults to stop off and grab a drink, there are also endless ways for kids to have the best day ever! The park has a playground and splash pad that will cool you down on those hot Georgia days. The splash pad offers spigots that shoot up from the concrete, with plenty of space for kids to run without any obstructions. Afterward, your child can scale the ropes of the playground or glide down the slides.

If you’re not in the mood for a playground, you’ll still be able to go for a walk and stop by one of the many gardens. You can try out the Kauffman’s Strawberry Farm Market and pick some berries or view animals from across the world at the Pine Mountain Safari. The Columbus Riverwalk also offers serene woods, fishing spots, and zip lines. Once you’re done playing, you can cool off at one of the many restaurants, including a food hall with a collection of restaurants.
